To hear the general press these days, it seems everyone who is anyone is in favor of alternative energy generation. Even many of the traditional utilities are developing alternative energy sources and forming divisions or separate companies to focus on it.
But, even when "everyone is pro alternative energy", some are still against it when it comes to having it in their state or area. That seems especially true for wind. (See here and here). Arguments seem to range from the "impact" of the turbines (birds, ecosystem, visibility) to issues of competition for markets.
